AIM, Would anyone talk to me on it?

My AIM = Borb

(this is a quick edit. I noticed the most recent post before mine after I posted this was about a catalogue of old msn display messages how weird!?!? I wish the Author had a way for me to contact them.)

So, yesterday I spent way too much time trying to get AIM to work on my computer. I guess you could call me a laptop enthusiast. I have several laptops, and all of them have a different Linux distro on them; none of them are worth more than $200. I have two desktops; one is retired and ancient, and the other is pretty old but works just fine, and I use that for my music production hobby.

Anyway, back to AIM. Yes, AIM is kind of back! It's called AIM Phoenix. It's risen from the ashes, baby! Well, kind of. At least for me. Because I use Linux, I had to install Wine to install AIM. I had several complications, but I got it working, I think. For some reason, I was not able to find an option to enter a chat room. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using Wine or not.

So I hopped on the Phoenix AIM Discord, and it's not very active, but I saw some folks were posting their screen names there. I started messaging several random people just to see if it worked. Everyone was offline, but it seemed to work. I'm just waiting for a response. I might try one of my other computers and see if it works better with Ubuntu. I was using a Manjaro system.

Also, after I close AIM, I can't reopen it. I have to uninstall and reinstall it. It's annoying, but my computer is fast, so it really only takes one minute. Of course, this could be connected to the other issues I'm having. Who freaking knows, man?

If you would like to hop on AIM and message me, my screen name is Borb. I will probably mess around with it again today or tomorrow.

P.S.: It's morning and raining. It's a really nice moment right now! :)
