Black Bird

I was going to write about alarm clocks, but instead I will write about a black bird. Because I always write my blog posts in the moment and in one go. I like them raw.

Anyway, I sat down to write like I do every morning, and I look out my window and see a bla... oh, it just flew away. Dang. Well, I'll continue anyway. I saw a black bird sitting on top of our tea olive bush. It's about 8 feet high. They can get much bigger, but we trim her.

I don't know exactly what kind of bird it was, but I do know it's a black bird. I just sat here and looked out my window for about 5 minutes envying the bird. It looked peaceful. Just swaying in the wind on a bending branch.

The branch looked like it would snap, but the bird didn't seem to have an ounce of anxiety. Probably because it doesn't have a smartphone to gaze into at all times. There is overcast today because we had a charming storm last night. While admiring my new feathered friend from a distance, the shadow of the clouds evaporated into a spotlight of sunshine.

It was there for about 10 minutes and flew off while I was writing this. Cheers to you, black bird. Funny, after it flew off, the clouds floated back to that same spot.
